Reusable face scrubbies are a big trend these days. They are eco-friendly, plant based and don't clog up our landfills like disposable cotton rounds. And with their gentle exfoliating, they'll leave your skin super smooth! Also how cute are they? Face scrubbies add some fun to bath routine and decor.
In college, I was notorious for buying disposable face wipes. The heavy alcohol based ones that come in a 20 pack. Looking back now, I was definitely fooled into thinking their ease of use didn't impact the environment. Also, not to mention the loads of chemicals that coat these wipes are unnatural and not healthy for our bodies.
Ever since I switched to handmade 100% cotton face rounds, my skin has never looked better. I noticed a difference within one day of use. I also love using my oils with them. Here are 5 ways to maximize the benefits of reusable makeup removers with essential oils.
1.) Use a homemade face wash.
My favorite recipe is simple, gentle and moisturizing.
In a 2 oz glass spray bottle, mix together castille soap (I used Lavender) with 20 drops Lavender essential oil and 10 drops Geranium essential oil. Fill rest with water. To Use, spray face scrubbie with desired amount of face wash, add water if needed, and gently scrub face in a circular manner.
It's easy to mix up and play around with recipes to suit your skin concerns. For example use Tea Tree oil if you have oily and acne prone skin. Options are endless! Just make sure to dilute properly to ensure you don't get any skin reactions.
2.) Follow up your nightly beauty routine with a diy face serum.
After washing away any residue from your face with your handy eco-friendly face scrubbie, pamper yourself with a conditioning face serum.
2 oz glass dropper bottle
30 drops Lavender
25 drops Geranium
15 drops Tea Tree Oil
10 drops Frankincense
10 drops Palmarosa
Carrier oil (Jojoba/Fractionated Coconut Oil)
Add essential oils to glass dropper bottle. Fill rest with carrier oil of choice. This face serum has so many great benefits for your skin. Lavender is is soothing for redness, tea tree helps breakouts, geranium smells heavenly, Frankincense helps with anti-aging and Palmarosa is moisturizing.
3.) Wash your reusable face pads with essential oils.
The beauty of using reusable face scrubbies is that you can just throw them in the laundry and keep using as needed. To add an extra special touch, add a couple drops of Thieves essential oil to your laundry. They will come out smelling great and give you all the wonderful fuzziness the next time you wash your face!

When your an oil lover, you are all about the diy! Face scrubbies make a lovely addition to any gift set. Pair them with this homemade brightening face scrub recipe and you'll have a nice gift for a birthday, Galentine's day or just because!
